In times of sorrow - remember that you would not be able to experience sorrow if you had never expereinced joy. Be thankful for the pain/sorrow - for it means that you have been blessed wtih joy /happiness at other times. Remember just as day follows night - joy will follow sorrow.
You need sadness to know happiness, sorrow to know joy, pain to know pleasure ... Respect these feelings - don't fight them - remember even the feelings we think are negative that we are experiencing have something positive that we can learn from ...
