Last night I had the absolute honour of seeing Monique Rhodes sing live at the Honey Bar in Auckland.
Not only is her voice fantastic - but she has such a presence about her that she mesmerizes everyone in the room. Her songs are soulful - the words inspirational - and I just had to buy her cd Awakening.
Even though Monique is a New Zealander she will only be in NZ til May. She will then be returning to France where she lives for half the year. If you get the chance to see her in person then grab it with both hands - you won't be disapointed!!
I first met Monique when she was accepting the Second Prize at the NZAG Art Awards in Feb on behalf of her sister - Artist Kelly Gatchell Hartley. These are two sisters with amazing talents!!!
