My good friend sent this to me today ... we should all reflect on this and see how it applies to our lives, society, people around us.
One measure of leadership is the caliber of people who choose to follow you. - Dennis A. Peer
I've never been one to promote following or leading as such but in society the reality is that you can't get away from it - with employment, families, clubs, etc
Therefore, if you are a leader - take a look at the people following you - how do those people reflect on you/your ability - do you have a group of people that are easily led and follow the herd, that lack integrity, motivation ... or do you have people that you admire, with their own ideas, have integrity, morals and you are proud to stand with?
If the cailber of people following isn't as high as you thought or would like it to be - then look to yourself to see why that is - are you wanting followers so that no one questions you, are you simply wanting power and control over others, do you want to make yourself stand out as better than everyone else, or is it because like is drawn to like etc
As a leader you have a responsibilty to inspire others to dream more, do more, become more.
Leadership is not magnetic personality - that can just as well be a glib tongue. It is not "making friends and influencing people" - that is flattery. Leadership is lifting a person's vision to higher sights, the raising of a person's performance to a higher standard, the building of a personality beyond its normal limitations. - Peter Drucker

How thought-provoking. I had never really looked at leadership in that way.
The quotations both deserve closer perusal; good post! Thankyou.
Wow, I had a look at your art-for-sale blog site and wow, your work is so beautiful. Self-taught? Wow, I wish I could be as talented as you are.
One day I'd like to be able to paint a beautiful background and do something with a bunch of photos of my little girl to showcase her journey. So I'll have to play around and try and come up with something special.
Anyway, just want to say that your work is beautiful and very special!

HI Lea, *blush* thank you for the lovely comment about my art. Yes I am self taught - and I beleive everyone of us has a gift of creativity in some form or another - its just being brave enough to unlock it and see where it takes you.
You have fantastic inspiration and motivation to create a gorgeous piece of art for your very brave, beautiful, little girl.
If I can help in anyway please just ask - I'd be more than happy to.
