hmmmmm I just don't know about this ....

This one has been a work in progress for a very long time ... it was textured with strips of canvas ... I have painted it a couple of times before and then painted over it - so I thought I would take it in a different directions wtih dots - then the design I set out to do just didnt come out - this one took on a life of its own - certinaly nothing like I envisioned .... and I'm really not sure about the outcome .....
Maybe its more a reflection of my emotions at the moment ... feeling caught .. .but not sure why .... it's party of my journey of life series ... and I've called it Urban Squeeze ....
Title: Urban Squeeze
Media: Acrylic on canvas
SOLD

I just think its brilliant that you are getting into your painting again, it was something that keeps you alive and vibrant, not to mention it is a long held goal for this year.You are doing it.

You should always allow your emotions,feelings and state of mind influence your work irrespective of the outcome. If it reflects a particular moment of time you can look back on the journey we call life through your works. To do other wise will be a contrived collection of your works. Imperfection, indifference or sheer brilliance is the nature of the beast :):)

Hmmmmmmmmm's right sophia, while the previous contributor is 100% right in what they say sometimes discretion is trhe better part of valour. As a little suggestion do it over it doesn't quite work. It's not a criticism just an observation. I'm really enjoying what appearsd to be a rejuvenated blog, your contributions are coming in thick and fast. Keep up the great work

Hi,

Thankyou both for you positive comments.

It is great to be back to creating art again and in the end sometimes the creation is more a cathartic experience for me rather than creating something that is saleable ... which I think is the case here ....

:-)

a cathartic is a substance which accelerates defecation.Are you saying this painting gave the shits:)

Cathartic - originally derived from the Greek word catharsis - it also has the meaning "emotionally purging" which is the context I was using it in - however if I was in my nursing mode I might have meant it the other way! lol

Adj. 1. cathartic - emotionally purging - psychotherapeutic
healthful - conducive to good health of body or mind;

2. cathartic - emotionally purging (of e.g. art)- releasing
artistic creation, artistic production, art - the creation of beautiful or significant things;

Heya, quite relieved you gave an explanation. You have such an excellent way with words and how you structure the posts in general
